Lamentations 3:22-24 (ESV)
22 Because of the steadfast love of the Lord, we are not cut off; his mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
1 John 3:11 (NIV)
11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
At the end of the day, who we elect doesn’t matter if we the people do the right thing. It’s time to make DC and politicians irrelevant through service. It’s time to make hate truly a thing of the past, not just the driving force for change. It’s time to put fear in it’s place – Satan’s and his minions.
Change done through hate and fear will always marginalize someone.
I’m sick and tired of people being top busy and tired to get their hands dirty and actually fix the issues we have. Adopt a few street people. Hire some if you own a company. Give them health insurance so they can heal. Mentor them so they can break the cycle. Do the same for people who are incarcerated, sick, or otherwise marginalized. Quit waiting for our politicians to fix the problem for you.
DO SOMETHING BESIDES WATCHING YOUR _______ TV AND WHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you’ve got time to do that on a regular basis – if it’s part of your routine, guess what – you’re part of the problem. Same with everything that isn’t loving on others. Unless you are getting out and loving on others the way Christ loved on us, you’re part of the problem.
Christ’s love is sacrificial – He sacrificed His life for everyone – you, me, us, them. He expects us to do the same. It’s time to quit expecting others to fix our problems and blame them when it fails. The problems we have won’t be fixed until we start sacrificing our time, talents and money – sacrificing, as in sacrificially, as in giving up stuff you’re “entitled” to, you’ve “earned”, etc. Radical, huh?
If we want to change DC, we have to make it irrelevant on social issues and put them back in their defense and infrastructure sandbox. We’ll only make it irrelevant through service of the people by the people, the way Christ taught us. That is the only way forward.
Nice pops
