1 It is for freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm then, and do not let yourself be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
To many, the boundaries of Christianity seem like a yoke of slavery, yet to those who know, it is a yoke of freedom, perfection, and peace. Any good parent knows the painful, long lasting consequences of raising your children without boundaries. We are no different as God’s children.
We are hardwired by God to know when we do wrong; it’s that guilty feeling, the shame, that comes with living for our wants, our fleshly desires. Live a life of freedom, one that intentionally conforms to God’s will. There is great freedom in choosing rightly.
Remember that it is Christ’s grace that saves us, not following the law. Know that the boundaries are for our own safety. Just as we tell (or will tell, or did tell 😊) our children “no” for their own protection, so God tells us.
I think it’s cool that He even cares, much less cares like He does.
