How many of us bitch about our lot in life? Most of the audience I’m reaching is warm, fed and has money to buy stuff. I resemble that remark completely. So, how do you look at those with less? Real people, real problems without the blessings this audience has has.
Questions: Who have you helped up? Can you afford to get your hands “dirty” by reaching out and touching someone who hasn’t been blessed like you have? How do you look at those who have a blemished past, who are poor, who are sick, who sin? How did Christ look at them?
He looked at them with love and compassion; He served them. “It’s not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.” Luke 5:31, etc.
Christ calls us to serve. Who does He call us to serve? Not ourselves, but others. V4 says “not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others”. If you are serving others, you are a rock blessing – your kindness and service create ripples of God that extend beyond your act.
If you aren’t serving others, who are you serving?
