Imagine there is a heaven, it’s easy if you try. (sorry John lennon)
Psalms 133:1
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”
So, imagine there’s this perfect God who created the dirt, plants, animals, humans, water, air, earth, solar system, galaxy, universe and heavens, and He’s a good who created this in perfect love, prefect justice. Then imagine that the human side of things screwed up and said “I don’t like your plan, I don’t trust you, I’m going my own way”. You don’t have to go to far too get there. I believe God created the universe and everything in it. You might have more faith than I and believe that absolute nothing created all this (if you do believe that, please explain how it works to me because I can’t get there in spite of all my education and a relatively high IQ).
How good and pleasant it is when we all get together and live in peace. The only way that happens is if we love like Christ loves us. That’s the only way.
Imagine there’s one country, one kingdom, and it’s ruled by the love of Christ, not the egos of man. Imagine there’s one reason to live and that’s to serve others. Imagine a world built on service, not a choice between survival or accumulation (depending on where you live). Imagine that it’s done out of love, not forced by power holding government.
Imagine no religion created by man, just worship for the God of love who created us in love. Imagine there’s no hate and violence. Imagine that there was no need for the “tolerance” movement because we were all actually inclusive and tolerant, motivated by Godly love, not self-righteousness and self-centeredness. Imagine not being motivated by trying to enforce upon the world judgements reserved for God and God alone, but instead motivated by love to prevent the eventual bad consequences of disobedience when perfect justice by the one who makes the rules comes due.
Imagine possessions leveraged for the betterment of all, not the profit of a few. Imagine a brotherhood of man living in the love of God as shown us and taught to us by Christ.
Living a life of service driven by love for everyone is the life we as Christians are called to live. Humans screwed it up in the garden of Eden when a spineless Adam didn’t say no to a wrong and tried to blame everyone but himself. That set the pattern for all of us unfortunately. Fortunately, God showed, once again, how much he loves us by sending the second Adam, Christ, to make things right, to show us how it’s supposed to be.
It’s time to get on the Love Train and make a difference that makes a difference. It starts with one life you impact out of love, that turns to another, and another. Those lives in turn impact others who impact others. It’s the mustard seed effect where the smallest of seeds friends into a huge tree.
“You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one” Thank you John Lennon
Christ is radical, embrace His love.
