What does it mean to soar on wings like eagles?
Isaiah 40:28-31
“28Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Every been tired? Ever been thoroughly beaten? Ever thrown in the towel and said “screw it”? The world has a way of doing that. I used to believe a quote that went like this: “In a battle between you and the world, I’ll take the world every time.” The world will beat us into compliance – if we let it. I no longer believe this quote to be true (under the right circumstances). Why?
Because He is who He is, the I am, the Creator. 26″Lift up your eyes and look into the heavens: Who created all these?” 28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29-31He gives strength to the weary and… those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary. Believe it.
There is only hopelessness when there is no reason for hope. We have hope because we have a reason for hope, a reason to love, a reason to live. The Creator of the ends of the earth loves us, knows every hair on our head, and has a plan for us. Is there not strength in that? The Lord who has understanding no one can fathom loves us, knows every hair on our head, and has a plan for us. Is there not strength in that?
I don’t believe we are to have anything left in the tank when He brings us home, we are to love and live to the max for His glory every minute of every day. The world will try to beat us into compliance, but we have the strength to fight, to run the good race, to beat the world back. I will defiantly fight the ways and wants of the world through the power of Christ in me. It might just be my last great act of defiance, but I’m not going down without a whale of a fight, wearing the full armor of God, and the strength He provides.
Soar in The Word, confident that He has your back.
Love this pops.
