Romans 8:35-39 More than conquerors

Romans 8:35-39

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Death? Demons? Persecution? Fallen angels? None of the above, and neither the past nor the future. Nothing. Nada. All the joys of the world cannot separate us from Christ because Christ intercedes for us. God’s co-equal, God as man, intercedes on our behalf when we accept Him as our savior, as our Lord.

The only thing that can keep that from happening is us – me, you, us – by rejecting His offer. Even “Christians” reject His offer, choosing to be of the world and not of Christ. It’s so sad this choice is the first choice of the world. Look at the results – look at the injustice that is allowed to fester, that is accepted as “a fact of life”. This is not Christ’s plan, yet it exists and is getting worse. So sad the world chooses to let this exist and not do what He has called to be done.

As an outspoken Christian I expect to be led to slaughter. It might not happen if I stay under the radar, but I don’t want to stay under the radar. The hugs of someone who finally gives their life to Christ is worth far, far more than some temporary discomfort here in this earth. Allowing God to use me in any way He chooses is worth far, far more than any discomfort here on earth.

There is nothing but the choice we make that can separate us from the love of Christ. Nothing! We are more than conquerors. We are God’s children, and He wants more kids.

What do you choose?
