Proverbs 11:9
“With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors, but through knowledge the righteous escape.”

Hebrews 4:12
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
I could just stop there, probably should. With their mouths, with their words, the godless destroy. Lies pour forth from a smiling face; b.s., wrapped in b.s., pure intention to serve self; arrogant and haughty. Have you ever sat there and listened to lie after lie spew forth like bile from a sewer pipe? Uck, get me out of here! The mouths of the godless destroy.
But the word of God, the word of God. Listen, do you hear it’s purity? Listen, do you hear it calling you? Shhhhh, listen. Tune out the vituperative noise of the liar. Listen to the Word that’s alive, the Word that convicts, the Word that is true. Listen. Soak it in. It’s better than pure, cold spring water pouring from the ground; it’s pure, thirst quenching relief. Listen to it.
Its purity convicts. Do you hear It speaking to your actions? To your thoughts? Let it. Let the Word transform you. It’s a scalpel, alive, dancing in God’s hand, purifying, convicting. It is the escape route from the lies that surround us, a wild ride down the rapids of life, emptying out into the calm pools of the plain.
Enjoy the ride.
