Turn on the lights the party’s just beginning. Matthew 5:16 John 1:5 John 8:12

Matthew 5:16 – Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
John 1:5 – And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
John 8:12 – Then spoke Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

I’m trying out some new apps to get my daily scripture because I’m not liking the pop-ups I’m getting on the old one. Then I get these the passages tied together. Dang.

Shine your light, the light God is calling you to be, into the darkest places, even though the dark will not “get it”, to glorify God, and you’ll never be in darkness. Dang again. You, be the light, that not only lights the way, it keeps you out of darkness with the light of life.

How are we to be the light? How are we to have the light of life? What do you/me/we have to do? Follow Jesus, grab Him as your mentor, do what He says, allow Him to work through you, glorify Him in your works out of love, adoration, respect, knowledge, faith… How hard is that? Let your good works shine.

Give Him credit for them. That seems to be a stumbling block for those that don’t comprehend. He told us that would happen. How’d He know (rhetorical question obviously)? Why did He do what He did knowing what He knew about what we were going to do with what He came to do and then did? That’s the mystery if you don’t frame it up with the love He has for us.

Follow Him and have the light of life. Let that light shine into every corner of the world, even the ones you haven’t visited yet. Turn on the light, the party’s just beginning.
