Mark 10:45
ā45 For the Son of man also came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
How many of us are willing to give up something to give someone a hand up? I mean really give something up? Like trade in the nice car for a beater? The nice home for a shack? Our life for someone else’s?
I don’t know anyone – could be the circle of friends I have, but I doubt it. It just doesn’t exist much more. Pockets, yes. Individuals yes. I know I’m not capable of drinking from His cup.
He calls us to serve sacrificially, to be the light, to push back the darkness. Do we, or do we not? Do we give of ourselves sacrificially? Do we humble ourselves to serve? Do we put ourselves second, third, fourth? Do we give sacrificially?
Christ did for us, He gave up his life as a ransom for many.
Will you heed the call? Will you recognize the amazing gift? Will you admit to the incredible sacrifice?
It’s like a Neverending Gobstopper, just infinitely better, infinitely costlier, infinitely more rewarding, infinitely more lasting.
To serve, to give up our lives in service, in love, that’s what Christ followers are called to do. What does your life look like?
Dang, dad. Just getting better and better. Thank you!!
