Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
Faith is the… conviction of things not seen. None of us are faithless. We can’t see how we got here – how the universe came into being – but we have faith that is was created. Whether believer or not, we can’t definitively answer the “how” question. We rest our arguments on faith.
We believe in microevolution because we can see it. Macroevolution is a little tougher – we have faith that the scientists know enough to say what an entire dinosaur looks like based on a jaw bone. We have faith that the Higgs boson comes from somewhere, but…. Yeah, yeah, blah, blah, blah.
The point isn’t where we draw the line, it’s that we draw the line.
Faith. We all have faith in something.
Faith is the assurance of things hoped for. This is where faith in God and faith in Godlessness/gods go in different directions. Without God, there is no assurance of things hoped for, a life full of joy, peace, love, perfection. With God there is.
Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
None of us are faithless; many have misplaced faith though.
Leave god behind, come home to God.
