“38 “You have heard that it was said, `An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ 39 But I say to you, Do not resist one who is evil. But if anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also; 40 and if anyone would sue you and take your coat, let him have your cloak as well; 41 and if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. 42 Give to him who begs from you, and do not refuse him who would borrow from you.”
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”
Orlando. The antithesis of love shown when 49 people are killed. The antithesis of love, a total absence of love.
An absence of love and into the vacuum steps hate to fill the void. I don’t care what you want to say, hate is hate, whether it’s against a “social class” or against God.
Here’s the truth: God is love and the absence of God leads to hate.
The presence of God. Love. We’re lost, so lost now after kicking God to the curb. We throw out the map and just drive hoping we’ll get there. Yeah, we’ll get someplace. Orlando.
Accept, give, love – with intentionality. Like Christ did.
How can God let something like this happen? Really, it’s how can man let something like this happen? This isn’t a God problem, this is a man problem. When God says go right and we go left, don’t blame God. Orlando is not about love and acceptance, it’s about hate.
What’s amazing though is that there will be a day when we get answers and nothing that happens today is worth comparing to the glories that are coming.
Pray for the souls in Orlando, for peace among mankind, for God’s righteous peace to descend on us all. Pray for the presence of God’s love to flood the earth.
