1 John 3:18 Philippians 1:9-10 Will your legacy be one of action or…?

1 John 3:18

“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”

Philippians 1:9-10
“9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ…”

It’s that simple. Don’t love with empty words and speeches, but action and truth. Action, liked do it yourself, something. God gifted you, so use those gifts. Not sure what they are? Seek them. I’m not a recovering drunk to be a recovering drunk – I have skills anger wisdom I gained, and I’m going to use them to glorify the One who blessed me with these skills.

I too pray for discernment, that I may know what’s best, that I may gain in knowledge and wisdom of His love.

See, (2 Timothy 4:3-5 MSG) “you’re going to find that there will be times when people will have no stomach for solid teaching, but will fill up on spiritual junk food—catchy opinions that tickle their fancy. 4 They’ll turn their backs on truth and chase mirages. 5 But you—keep your eye on what you’re doing; accept the hard times along with the good; keep the Message alive; do a thorough job as God’s servant.”

The fight is action, it’s love – it’s love in action. It’s fighting with love as your shield and sword (or the modern day equivilant), in love, for love, about love – with the same intensity and commitment as Christ loved us with.

I want my eulogy to truthfully be:

2 Timothy 4:7

“7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

What will your legacy be?
