John 4:23-24 (MSG)
23-24 “It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.”
Matthew 24:48-51 (ERV)
48 “But what will happen if that servant is evil and thinks his master will not come back soon? 49 He will begin to beat the other servants. He will eat and drink with others who are drunk. 50 Then the master will come when the servant is not ready, at a time when the servant is not expecting him. 51 Then the master will punish that servant. He will send him away to be with the hypocrites, where people will cry and grind their teeth with pain.
Who are you? Who? Who? (with apologies to The Who)
Really though, who are you? What’s the meaning of your life? Why did He put you here? Does the life of Christ move you even if you’re not sure where it’s coming from? Do the teachings of Christ resonate to your core even if you’re not sure why? Are you moved by the Holy Spirit to a life that is played out like Christ calls us to live without even knowing it? Or, do you just go home and lock the door, close the blinds and retreat?
Ahhhh, the questions. Don’t have time to think about it. Blah, blah, blah, later.
OK but….
We’re called to be stewards of this home we have. Stewards of our families. Stewards of the land. Stewards of the riches. Stewards of the people. Stewards of everything. How do you think we’re doing?
