Psalm 121:7-8 (NLT)
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm—
watches over your life;
8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forever.
John 14:27 (NLT)
27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
Dear Lord,
So, you’ve been saying don’t worry ‘bout a thing, eh?* Sure, easy for you to say. So much more difficult for me to really believe. A Psalm of ascension – climbing. Just another step in the way to your presence, eh? Peace of and heart that the world can’t give? Then why does doubt creep in? Why do the worries take up space in my head? What am I missing here?
Don’t worry ‘bout a thing, ‘cause every little thing gonna be alright. How do I know for sure?
Luke 6:18-21 (MSG)
You’re Blessed
17-21 Coming down off the mountain with them, he stood on a plain surrounded by disciples, and was soon joined by a huge congregation from all over Judea and Jerusalem, even from the seaside towns of Tyre and Sidon. They had come both to hear him and to be cured of their ailments. Those disturbed by evil spirits were healed. Everyone was trying to touch him—so much energy surging from him, so many people healed! Then he spoke:
You’re blessed when you’ve lost it all.
God’s kingdom is there for the finding.
You’re blessed when you’re ravenously hungry.
Then you’re ready for the Messianic meal.
You’re blessed when the tears flow freely.
Joy comes with the morning.
So much energy surging from him. So much energy surging from him, so many people healed.
Lord, I’m going to touch you today and be healed. I’m ready. I’m hangry. I’ve lost it before, know what it’s like, and cried like a baby with bad diaper rash. I’m ready for you.
I’m going to find a way to touch you today and be healed Lord. I’m ready.
*(yes, I was in WI for the long weekend and even had ‘you betcha’ used in a sentence in a conversation. Love it!)
