1 John 4:8 (NIV)
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
The flip side of this statement is that if you know love, you know God, even if you don’t know think you know God. That makes the reality of permanent separation from Him something that’s so hard to fathom. We give ourselves credit for creating love, but we’re not the ones to get the credit. We have leveraged God’s love for us to this point while claiming it as our own. We are incapable of love without the love God has placed on our hearts.
John 14:1-4 (NIV)
14 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. 2 My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
And the He creates a place for us. A place withany rooms. The entry key is faith, a rock solid belief that Christ is who He says He is. Heck, that’s enough to get you in if it’s real, not lip service.
Imagine a life of love, not hate (eh’m protestors). Also imagine a life of no love and only hate, or a life with neither. Life is special because of love. Do you want to bear eternity without love?
If you love, you know God. Know Him in a way laid out for us as The Way and know love forever and ever.
