Proverbs 3:5-6
5. Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6. in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Straight to where? Straight to becoming the man He created me to be. Far too often though, I’m disobeying the first parts – trusting the Lord with all my heart and not leaning on my own knowledge of things, not submitting to Him – so my path is crooked and marked with a lot of crashes. Ugh.
Trust. Who do we really trust? Do you have someone(s) that you trust implicitly? Do you trust Christ that way? If not, why not? Has he burned you at some point so that you can’t trust him? I really doubt that. Or, more likely, does He seem to far away? Does His direction require to much of you or get in the way of what you want to do? Far too often that’s how it is with me.
So my path is crooked and marked with a lot of crashes. My choice either way. Trust in the Lord even when it doesn’t look like he knows what he’s doing, or trust in me who always knows what he’s doing. Hmmmm.
Time to recommit to submit and get on the straight path to the one who made me, who loves me like no other, who has my best interests at heart even when I can’t see it. Time to look to God first.
