Joshua 1:7-9 (ESV)
7 Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may act wisely wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Colossians 4:1 (NIV)
Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven.
Matthew 7:12 (NIV)
So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets
Ahhh, The Book of Law. The commandments. Those things that get in the way of really living in today’s world of relative morals. As a reminder, here are the Ten Commandments – updated for the two thumb communication crowd:

Pretty simple, understandable, except for the “No gods before me” part I think. Even the adultery part makes sense if you’re the one cheated on.
So, meditate on it day and night – that’s a lot to ask when there’s so much else to do. That’s kinda the point. What’s more important than God? So that you do what’s written in it – if you’re going to practice it all the time it’s best to keep it present in your thought and word. Long story short, it’s the best way to live. It’s respectful, honest, caring, empathetic, requires active participation, and it’s true. Just look what’s happening to us as we stray farther and farther away.
It also naturally leads to the Golden Rule. It’s the Law from the Book of Law. Treat others the way God treats you – with love, compassion, mercy, grace, wisdom, patience (lots and lots of patience), and more. That’s probably better than you expect to be treated.
I’m thinking we need more gold and less us.
