Word alive John 1:1-3

John 1:1-3 (NLT)
1 In the beginning the Word already existed.
The Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
2 He existed in the beginning with God.
3 God created everything through him,
and nothing was created except through him.

The Word, He existed in the beginning with God. Everything was created through him, The Word.

He knows us because he created us. He puts things on our heart that we take as human nature – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, service, etc. These are Godly things, not human. Because they are Godly and not human, it’s why we struggle to commit our lives to them in everything we do. It’s why the good things are goals and not daily realities. It’s why we still have the poor, the hungry, the sick dying alone, prisons filled with broken souls.

Ecclesiastes 9:7 (NLT)
7 So go ahead. Eat your food with joy, and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God approves of this!

He does. God’s not a stiff necked, pucker butted, prude. God is alive. The Word is alive. Jesus’s first recorded miracle was to make a good party great. Think about it. Then, think about what He calls us to. Who is this guy? Who is The Word?

Job 36:11 (NLT)
11 “If they listen and obey God, they will be blessed with prosperity throughout their lives.
All their years will be pleasant.

Maybe not in the way that you think, but in God’s way. What would you rather do – chase after material goods that end up broken or help others and change the world and inch at a time? The Word is alive in all of us while we live.
