Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
James 1:19-20 (NLT)
19 Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. 20 Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires.
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NLT)
13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.
So much depth in the wisdom above. He has plans for us that are better than what we can envision for ourselves, yet it often takes a rough road to get there. God will insert himself as our pilot eventually when we finally give him his rightful place as our Leader, King, Lord. Until then, he lets us pilot and we crash often, then we rail against God because we crashed the plane again. How can God let this happen we ask? We should be grateful he is still with us after we crash. Remember, he could enslave us and everything would be perfect, but then we’d have no free will. I’ll take free will and all its pain and challenges.
Matthew 6:2-4 (NLT)
2 When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do—blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get. 3 But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. 4 Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
We do have free will. We choose what we do and how we do it. Just as God calls us to humbly serve those in need, he does the same. Quietly, when we don’t refuse him. He’s there. For us. Always.
Jeremiah 6:16 (NLT)
16 This is what the Lord says:
“Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it.
Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls.”
But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’
We reply, no, that’s not the road we want…. Free will. Crash the plane or let God fly it perfectly.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
