2 Timothy 3:15 (NLT)
15 You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.
Ecclesiastes 5:2 (NLT)
2 Don’t make rash promises, and don’t be hasty in bringing matters before God. After all, God is in heaven, and you are here on earth. So let your words be few.
Dear Lord, you are a good, good father. Oh, if I had just a small part of your wisdom. You teach us, we have the opportunity to learn. Like any student, if I only glance at the material, it’s not likely I’m going to fully understand what I’m taught – learned ignorance, know enough to be dangerous, etc. However, if I study and learn, I’m amazed at the depth and complexity of the issue at hand. Rarely is anything in the world black and white, but you say it is. There is right, there is wrong. Your ways are the best ways even if we want to fight it out of ignorance.
2 Samuel 22:28 (NLT)
28 You rescue the humble, but your eyes watch the proud and humiliate them.
Philippians 2:3 (NLT)
3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.
Issues become very gray when we listen to our wants, when we listen to the world. As uncomfortable as it is, I’ll take black and white.
