Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

He shows us the way if we bother to look. We might not like that path, but it’s there for us to follow.

Luke 6:35-36 (ESV)
35. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. 36. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.

Galatians 6:9-10 (ESV)
9. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. 10. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Everyone? Really? How does that work?

Love discipline? Ouch. What about my self esteem questions the world?

James 1:5-6 (NLT)
5 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. 6 But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.

Um sure, really? Yes, really.
