Who’s the best lover in the world?

Luke 10:27
He answered, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ ; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” (but please read the link for the whole story)

Who showed us what love for others looks like? Who showed us the real way forward? Who showed us that there are no socio-economic /social/gender barriers? Who showed us what we must do? The man who said “Go and do likewise” – Jesus.

Do you love your neighbor as yourself? Do you love God more than anything? How do you show it?

What kind of a Christian are you? Do you think pleasant thoughts about love but keep your hands clean and pristine? Or does your love cause you to rail at injustice, get your hands dirty and risk getting an “infection”.

Do you love your neighbor as yourself, willing to do anything within your skills and means (skills, not fears)? Are you willing to expose yourself to the pain and suffering or will you complain of the poor and dirty on your way to the pew?

Jesus gives us one option – be in the world, but not of the world, loving those who are wounded and in pain, getting your hands dirty, risking “infection”, making a difference in someone’s life. Radical. Christ showed us what true love looks like, sacraficial love, the best love in the world.

Who’s the best lover in the world? Jesus. Follow Him.

Rise up and make a difference in someone’s life today out of love for them, not yourself.
