Isaiah 61:10

Getting all dressed up and having somewhere to go!

Isaiah 61:10
“I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”

Clothed in the suit of salvation. Arrayed in a robe of righteousness. Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone wore those? I think that’s what the world wants without the effort it takes to put them on. I think the world feels entitled to whatever good God has just because we are. I think a lot of folks (especially atheists ) are little brats crying about the lack of salvation, the lack of God’s gifts, that they feel entitled to without doing what is required to get them. A child’s “Gimme!” and “Mine” come to mind, and all of the theatrics associated with the tantrum.

Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone wore the cloak of salvation? Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone wrote the robe of righteousness – His righteousness, not ours?

Well, we know what to do. The bible tells us what to do, so just do it! And bring someone else along for the journey. Along the way, earnestly striving to live the life Christ calls us to live, we might just transform the world. One soul at a time.
