Isaiah 54:10
“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.”
Ecclesiastes 1:4
“Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever.”
Some things never change. Like change. Like staying the same. Our world is different today than it has been in the past, just like it always has been. Life should be better for all of us, but it isn’t, yet the earth still remains. Though we live in turbulent times, God doesn’t change, nor does it look like we do. You’d think that we’d learn.
So, who are we: ISIS or Mother Teresa? God promises that His peace will never go away. There will be course corrections that He puts us through, but He’ll never go away, never remove His peace, His love.
We, on the other hand, cover all spectrum of good and evil. We are both ISIS and Mother Teresa. We always have been, we always will be, until He decides to end our shenanigans and yells “ready or not, here I come!”.
I wait for that day, when He puts an end to our self centered world where dogma is a stigma, got run over by my karma, but is still kingma; where my dogma is truth and yours isn’t, and vice-versa, except you deny your dogma is a dogma and insist mine is and vice-versa.
Think about it – can we really keep going like this? Forever? Somethings gotta give and I chose to believe it’s going to happen as we’re being taught by Christ, God, and the Holy Spirit. It just makes sense that we should all be following Christ (not a church, but Christ as part of a church, part of the universal church) and living like He calls us to live. Not sure what that’s like? Try reading the Sermon on the Mount or Matthew 25:31-45.
Some things never change, like God and His love, His peace. He will make that the norm. I long for that change to take place.
