Presence and Awe Luke 1:41-44 Isaiah 53:10

Luke 1:41-44 (NIV)
41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! 43 But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.

Isaiah 53:10 (MSG)
10 Still, it’s what God had in mind all along, to crush him with pain. The plan was that he give himself as an offering for sin so that he’d see life come from it—life, life, and more life. And God’s plan will deeply prosper through him.

John 14:6-7 (ESV)
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you know me, you will know my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and loudly exclaimed…. Filled. As soon as I knew you were near, the baby in my womb leapt for joy. Life, life and more life. I am the way. From now on, you know God.

How often have we felt that awe of God’s presence? It’s that feeling that He’s there – I don’t know how to describe it but that feeling of awe.

How can this be I ask myself? Is it the beauty of the natural world? The amazing conversation? The transformation of a soul coming to believe? How can this be?

When we run into God, do you pass it off as an awesome feeling on being at one with nature? Maybe something the great hooka/spirit/karma/self created? Or, do you recognize that it’s God?

God came to us as God, Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Three in One. One in Three. He is, and we’ve seen Him, we know Him even if we don’t want to admit it. We see Him in the amazing things that makes our heart and mind feel like we’re here for something special. Well, we are.

We know Him, God’s plan will prosper deeply through Him.

Our hearts leap for joy. Be present with Him, and recognize that it’s God.

Nothing less, nothing less tangible, nothing less awe inspiring, nothing less amazing than God being present with us. There is nothing greater than that, nor will there ever be. Embrace the moment. Better yet, make it your life – to be in His presence, to be in awe of Him.
