Meditating on truth Philippians 4:9-14 John 11:25-27

Philippians 4:9-14 (MSG)
8-9 Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

John 11:25-27 (MSG)
25-26 “You don’t have to wait for the End. I am, right now, Resurrection and Life. The one who believes in me, even though he or she dies, will live. And everyone who lives believing in me does not ultimately die at all. Do you believe this?”
27 “Yes, Master. All along I have believed that you are the Messiah, the Son of God who comes into the world.”

Whoa, the PC tolerance crowd is certainly showing their tolerance these days. Yessir! Hopefully, now that their true colors are becoming impossible to hide, we can move on from their form of vituperative hatred to something that really looks like peace and toleration. How about meditating on things that are true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, and gracious?

Hatred, when disguised as anything but hatred, is still hatred.
Anger, when disguised as anything but anger, is still anger.
Narrow mindedness, when disguised as anything but narrow mindedness, is still narrow mindedness.
Self-righteousness, when disguised as anything but self-righteousness, is still…..

We don’t have to wait for the end. We can focus of the purpose and reason for our presence here – to do the work of Christ. The work of Christ is truly radical, a departure from who we are in our native state, and is worthy, noble, reputable, authentic, gracious, compelling…. It is good.

When the riots born of the PC/Tolerance movement start (hopefully I’m wrong), let’s throw them up against the character of Christ and His calling to us. How do they compare?

Let’s take the time to meditate on the truth.
