Psalms 24:7-8 (NIV) 7. Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. 8. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
The Lord mighty in battle. I do hope I’m gone when he comes, though I’d like it to be now so the generations that follow don’t have to see it. The Lord in battle. When perfect justice comes. Gives me the shudders just thinking about it, all the folks who knew better and mocked God.
Luke 11:29-32 (ESV) 29 When the crowds were increasing, he began to say, “This generation is an evil generation. It seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah. 30 For as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. 31 The queen of the South will rise up at the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, something greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, something greater than Jonah is here.
So, is not new either. Go figure. Generations upon generations have waited. Some say it’s because there is no God. Some say it’s so people have a chance to come home to God. Lots of chances. Lots of time.
You get to decide what works for you. Free Will. It’s not a mystery. It just is. There’s the way forward through prayer and repentance – or not – your choice.
Mark 11:24-26 (NIV) 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
When the Lord comes, mighty in battle…
