Hebrews 3:4 (NLT)
4 For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God.
Acts 20:32 (NLT)
32 “And now I entrust you to God and the message of his grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for himself.
We are built from the ground up as the saying goes. From the miracle of conception on, we are built, remodeled, and eventually torn down for recycling. Lots of contractors work on us – parents, family, school, and who/what not. The builder of the builders though is God. Always has been, always will be.
At some point, it is prudent to turn to the builders builder for remodeling that’s flawless. As with any construction project, the sooner you get the ultimate, perfect pro in there to fix all the mistakes others have made (as well as the improvement projects we’ve done ourselves without knowing what we were doing) the better off we are, but it’s never too late.
God and the message will build us up and give us perfection when it matters most. He will wipe out all the mistakes less qualified contractors have (others and ourselves) have perpetrated on his perfect plan.
1 John 4:7 (NLT)
7 Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.
Let’s admit that love isn’t something that we know how to build, remodel, improve, or make better. It comes from God and we modify it to suit our needs from there. He has to undo the modifications we’ve made to make us like we were meant to be and love like we were meant to love.
