2 Corinthians 7:1 (NLT)
7 Because we have these promises, dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear God.
Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Matthew 4:4 (NLT)
4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Promises, promises, promises. In a world of “your life will get better when…” you use this detergent to wash your clothes, this body wash and pit juice, drive this car, wear this whatever, promises don’t seem like promises any more. The promise of freedom, the promise of life, the promises we all hope for don’t mean what they used to.
The promises of God never change because He doesn’t change. Perfection is perfection, always has been, always will be.
