1 John 3:17 (NLT)
17 If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
Shows no compassion.
Shows no compassion. What a world. I used to drive by a jail or other penal institution and think “lock the place up and throw away the key”. God softened my heart and gave me the life experiences to have some compassion and deep empathy for these guys on many levels.
Some are pure evil and likely will never listen to God or allow their hearts and souls to be changed. They are Satan’s minions.
Some have opened their hearts and are allowing God to work on them, to change them.
Some just think they can do it on their own and don’t needs God’s help and they keep coming back, coming back, coming back, until the flicker of hope dies, and with that, their soul. Hopelessness is a dark place.
Psalm 68:6 (NLT)
6 God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy.
But he makes the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
Shows no compassion. Is that you? You want to get to heaven, and where’s your compassion? Is your compassion family centered? What about your strangers? What about people you don’t know? God’s love is for all of us, not us selected few. If you want heaven, you need God’s love, you need to be in God’s love. You will want to show God’s love. We want to be God; we aren’t even close to a germ on his butt.
Isaiah 55:7-9 (NLT)
7 Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the Lord that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.
8 “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
9 For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
We don’t know God’s love until we begin to practice it in all we do. Does that describe you? I know I’m nowhere near there yet. That’s my BHAG.
2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NLT)
3 But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.
I know this to be true. When I stray from his protection, when I stray to myself, I know this to be true because He corrects me back Him.
Acts 2:22 (NLT)
22 People of Israel, listen! God publicly endorsed Jesus of Nazareth by doing powerful miracles, wonders, and signs through him, as you well know.
We know this to be true. Jesus is real, he walked here on earth. There’s no denying it unless you are in the same class as a flat earther or a cheese mooner. God publicly endorsed Christ in front of thousands and thousands. He is who he says he is, and with a pedigree like that, his words mean what they say they mean.
Shows no compassion. Is that you?
