Think of how people hurt themselves by opposing him. Hebrews 12:3

Hebrews 12:3 (NLT)
3 Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people;[a] then you won’t become weary and give up.
[a] 12:3 Some manuscripts read Think of how people hurt themselves by opposing him.

Think of how people hurt themselves by opposing him.

Think about it. Who is Christ and what does he teach us to stand for? Not the religion of Christianity which is man made, not the Christians that you see that call themselves that and do nothing to act like Him, but Christ himself. Do you really know or are you just going off what you learned when you were 12 years old?

Think of how people hurt themselves by opposing him. Think of how we hurt ourselves by opposing him.

There’s nothing logical about opposition to Christ and his teaching. There is nothing bad that will/can/could result by following Christ to the nines. Nothing. So why do we oppose him?

I wish I knew so I could attack the problem and fix it. Being male, that’s what I want to do – fix it. It ain’t gonna work like that and there’s nothing I can do to fix it except prepare others to open their hearts for the Holy Spirit to do its work.

Think of how people hurt themselves by opposing him. While we’re at it, think of how people hurt those that do follow him. Why? If we applied 5 why methodology to this problem, we’d never get past the first why. Root cause analysis doesn’t find and answer. Why not? What’s going on here?

Think of how people hurt themselves by opposing him.

2 Corinthians 1:5 (NLT)
5 For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.

Revelation 20:4 (NLT)
4 Then I saw thrones, and the people sitting on them had been given the authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony about Jesus and for proclaiming the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his statue, nor accepted his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They all came to life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

Think of how people hurt themselves by opposing him. Think about what is gained by following him.
