Psalm 33:4-5 (NLT)
4 For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does.
5 He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth.
Matthew 23:12 (NLT)
12 But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.
Galatians 6:9 (NLT)
9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
We humans can be stubborn and arrogant. We claim the top of the food chain and run the world to our “benefit” – with all the attendant things like violence, environmental issues, etc. If you think I’m being to harsh, ask yourself if we’re being good stewards of what we’ve been given or if there’s not room for massively significant improvement.
The Lord loves what is just and good. His love fills the earth and that’s where good comes from. We in the west claim it as our nature. I’m sure other cultures do as well. It’s not. Love comes from God, good comes from God.
Be humble or be humbled. Never tire of doing good, fight the good fight, swim against the current of the world.
Make a difference with sacrificial love. That’s God’s way, that’s his love, that’s his word, that’s his wisdom.
Proverbs 9:12 (NLT)
12 If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit. If you scorn wisdom, you will be the one to suffer.
