John 9:39 (NLT)
Then Jesus told him, “I entered this world to render judgment—to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind.”
1 John 2:4-6 (NLT)
4 If someone claims, “I know God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not living in the truth. 5 But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. 6 Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.
Give site to the blind…. That’s easy to understand and see. Show those who think they see… That’s another story as we can see in the world around us as it spirals toward who knows what – oblivion? New world order? Socialist nirvana? Green godless (isn’t that a dressing?)? Revival?
I’m not sure where it will end up, I’m hoping for revival, but fear that it’ll be something far less. We as Christians carry much of the responsibility for this for where we are today. We have not modeled our lives after Christ the way Christ modeled it for us. The church today, on the whole, doesn’t look much different from the world when it comes to porn addiction, divorce, financial mismanagement. Can you tell your manager is a Christian? Are businesses run in a Christ like manner or as slaves to the debtors/shareholders? Are shareholders acting like Christ in how they steward their resources? The answer is obvious.
Exodus 20:23 (ESV)
23 You shall not make gods of silver to be with me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold.
Psalm 27:13-14 (NLT)
13 Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living.
14 Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.
Revival will come.
