Bummer. But…. Proverbs 15:26

Proverbs 15:26 (ESV)
26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord, but gracious words are pure.

Nice start, ‘eh? It’s true though. Is it a surprise that a God of love would call something an abomination? No, he’s pure love, pure perfect, so anything wicked is an abomination. Even if it’s just a little teeny bit wicked. The light swings from God’s reaction and shines on my life, thoughts, actions, deeds. I know where I fall. None of us are immune to being an abomination to the Lord. Bummer. But….

Psalm 100:4-5 (NLT)
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.

2 Timothy 1:9 (NLT)
9 For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus.

His unfailing love. His plan from the beginning.

Psalm 73:25 (NLT)
25 Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth.

Ephesians 1:7-10 (NLT)
7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. 8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. 9 God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ—which is to fulfill his own good plan. 10 And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.

Romans 15:7 (NLT)
7 Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.

Luke 6:27-28 (NLT)
27 “But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. 28 Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.”

This is His way even if it isn’t our way. It’s proven at every turn. Even here in the coldness of my heart He is there to save me.
