John 15:13 (NLT)
13 There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
1 Corinthians 10:31 (NLT)
31 So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God
We are called to be compassionate. Most of us would say that we are very, very compassionate. Within reason. Christ calls us to be compassionate to the point of discomfort. That is just flat out to uncomfortable to most people.
Gotta as why? Why is is so uncomfortable to be compassionate?
Matthew 25:44-45 (NLT)
44 “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’
45 “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’”
We are called to do more than be comfortable with the riches we’ve been blessed with. We are called to be uncomfortably compassionate. We are called to be the difference that honors, glorifies, worships Christ. We are to be uncomfortably compassionate.
Psalm 133:1 (NLT)
1 How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!
