A clean break. 2 Corinthians 7:1

2 Peter 3:8 (NLT)
8 But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day.

Psalm 37:4 (NLT)
4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.

Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

Galatians 5:22-23 (NLT)
22 But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

The Christ has brought so much to us through salvation that it’s often taken for granted. He does beat the drum that we need to move from where we were to who we were meant to be.

Ephesians 5:7-8 (NLT)
7 Don’t participate in the things these people do. 8 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!

2 Corinthians 7:1 (MSG)
7 With promises like this to pull us on, dear friends, let’s make a clean break with everything that defiles or distracts us, both within and without. Let’s make our entire lives fit and holy temples for the worship of God.

With so much given to us, I don’t know why I resist going all in and following Christ’s drum beat. I don’t believe I’m the only one given the state of the world today. With promises like this – if it was a winning lotto ticket I believe we’d give more effort than we do for the eternal win – we don’t make that clean break. Crazy.

I need to make a clean break from who I am without Christ remembering I am, we are, forgiven.

Psalm 30:4 (ESV)
4 Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.

  1. Love that you are sharing scripture. It is indeed a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our paths.
