Psalm 27:14 (NLT)
14 Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.
Wasting patiently is not my strong suit. I only have x number of years here and I want it now. I don’t want to waste one minute of it. We all feel pretty strongly about that I think. I want it now.
But, wait patiently for the Lord.
Psalm 24:8 (NLT)
8 Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle.
Wait for Him. Argh, it is so against my grain to wait patiently. All battles are won through Him, yet to wait patiently? No way.
Flip that equation though, and I wonder where we’d be today if God wasn’t patient? We’d be toast (literally).
Psalm 71:8 (NLT)
8 That is why I can never stop praising you; I declare your glory all day long.
That is, when I stop to praise Him for the blessings I have and not be so focused on the ones I don’t have.. When I take time to realize I’m (at best) second, that He is always first, that I need to put others first. Trust in Him, wait on Him, serve. I can wait because the end game is what matters, but what I want now.
Romans 15:2 (NLT)
2 We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord.
This is the call. This is why we are to live. When this is the cause, when we’re present to allow Him to use us in His battles, all the blessings rain down on us.
John 3:17 NLT
God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
