Colossians 1:17-18 (NLT)
17 He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.
18 Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning,
supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything.
Why? We think we humans are the top of the food chain, the apex, and we strut around that way. We think we know best and we act in that knowledge. And we get to where we are today and what a fine mess we have. Yes, there are pockets of good, but overall the tenor is of anger and the drumbeats of war echo in all of our homes whether in Chicago, Seattle, Islip, Charlottesville, Mosul, Badia of Horns, Tal Afar, Raqqa, North Korea, Philippines, Guam, ugh – where not? Is this really what we’re talking about when we say we’re the apex?
Why Christ? It’s a better way. Reconciliation. Love. Service. Others. Peace. No, we won’t always agree, but we can reconcile our differences. That’s apex behavior, not two alt’s destroying.
Luke 14:11 (NLT)
11 “For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
