Call me Martha

Ezekiel 18:32 (NLT)
32 I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live!

Proverbs 10:9 (NLT)
9 People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed.

John 11:25-26 (NLT)
25 Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. 26 Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?”

Do you believe this Martha? Helloooooo? Eh, Martha, do ya hear me? God is sitting right here asking you to believe.

They are saying “if you’d only have been here Lazzarus would still be alive”, as he’s saying “I got this”. I can imagine Christ saying something like “dang it” or “arrrrrgh, don’t ya get it” or “WTH people”.

Sounds similar to the world today. Christ is still saying I got this as we struggle to get it and control our lives. He claims to be the resurrection and the life. We look and say “yeah, yeah, I got that, you’re God, yeah, yeah – don’t you see what’s going on? Do something!”.

He has done something and continues to do so. We just need to take the cotton out of our ears and put it in our mouths to understand the gravity of our situation and the blessing He as provided.

Romans 3:23-24 (NLT)
23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)
17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

  1. Revo… I don’t get to your blog often enough… one of the downsides of not having a data phone, but i do find thoughtful and helpful perspective in your writings. Thank you. Further, I just re-read your your “mandate” or maybe it is a “credo” to the Just Broken Blog… truely a beautiful and maybe raw description of the foundation that is your life, where you have been and where your path is leading. I can only hope to get clear enough to put to print my “credo” as well. Good works brother.
